About Dan Norman
“Photography is about preservation. It is about capturing more than that brief moment in time. Photography captures excellence, passions, highlights, the quiet moments, and that spark that tells us what it means to be alive. I strive with every photo I take to tell a story, your story. One that needs to be told again even after that moment has passed. Live performance photography is my passion. I feel the best way to watch a show or performance is through the lens. In doing so, I want to share with you my view of Theatre, Opera, Dance, and Live Performance.”
I am a Minnesota native- I grew up in northern Minnesota and went to college at the University of Minnesota, Morris, where I earned my degree in theatrical scenic design. I continued following my passion for theatre, working backstage and in a scene shop, building my knowledge and understanding of the stage. I began taking photos from the wings, and eventually pursued production photography for theatres around the Twin Cities. My business has grown from there and I have now worked for over 70 companies, capturing photos for their theatre, opera, event, and press needs. I love every minute of it, and I hope to work with you on a show very soon!
